Crossroads

The thing about being at a crossroads is the overwhelming confusion. You don't know if the situation that led you to this crossroads is a blessing in disguise or purely just bad luck.

One moment you feel like maybe this is the push you've needed to take a new journey, but days later you find yourself feeling helpless and worthless. Yesterday you believed that everything was gonna be okay, but today you don't have the confidence anymore. Nothing feels right.

Again, it's the confusion, and it's maddening.

So you do what you think is best; choosing the nearest path and walking through it even though it's unstable and not the ideal one you want, hoping you'll find a turn that will lead you to a better path. It's daunting, but you tell yourself that it's fine because at least you're taking a step forward—at least you're following your guts.

And you pray and pray and pray, begging God to never let those guts betray you but instead will take you out of the confusion that is this crossroads.

Then you remember that God doesn't always answer your prayers right away, so you have no choice but to keep walking forward on the unstable path, because how else are you gonna figure things out if you're not moving?

So walking forward, it is.
